I love technology and I am always thankful to receive my mother's daily text message of a bible scripture. When I heard about this "buyble" I had to send a few messages of my own. The Beauty Buyble is a beauty book with a twist. It lists the top beauty categories according to hair, body and face and divides them by cost so you can plan your beauty accordingly. The price categories are low (under $10), medium ($10-20), high ($20 or more) and OUTRAGEOUS (well beyond $20). The writers were able to talk with experts in all fields of beauty and beauty editors. The book is slated to be released annually. The highlight is the book comes with samples of a few of the beauty products listed in the book. Yes, FREE samples and a fun read. The book also contains a beauty version of the ten commandments. They are as follows:
The Beauty Buyble Ten Commandments:
- This THE Beauty Buyble, you shall have no other publications before it.
- Be true to your own beauty; rely not on beauty counter makeovers for your look.
- You shall not take Chanel's name in vain.
- Remember the body and keep it moisturized daily. (My favorite).
- Honor your roots; 1/4 inch and get thee some color.
- Never leave the house without wearing an SPF of 15 or greater.
- Cheat not on your hairstylist or colorist -- they always know.
- You shall not use lipstick as rouge -- you're not fooling anyone.
- Cleanliness is next to godliness -- never go to bed with your makeup on.
- You shall not covet your best friend's Beauty Buyble; buy your own?
I think this is something to check out. I'm adding it to the beauty section of my home bookshelf.
Stay smart, stay strong, stay pretty.

OMG, I just purchased my BEAUTY BUYBLE and I love it. It has a section for women of color - ya hooooo! And all those fantastic products. Thank you so much for the recommendation, I purchased four. I hear they are selling out and will become a collector's series.

Ms. Divalicious, I have the book. I like the idea of the samples, but I really liked the concept of the book. The samples aren't really "necessary" for brown skin, but I love cute little beauty books and things like that. If you are looking for something targeting brown skinned beauties, I think Iman's Beauty of Color is better. I hope this answers your questions, if not email me.

Julia- have you actually checked out this book? A friend wanted to get it, but it was shrink wrapped. Okay I understand that re the samples, BUT is there any information relevant to the needs of us with brown skin??? I'd like to give her some feedback....

I also think this will make a great gift for birthdays or for pre-teens and teens to start them on a beauty routine.

I recieved mine today and much preferred the samples to that awful book, though I agree with Beauty Bug that the overall quality of the samples left much to be desired.

I ordered mine afer reading your post and while I was a bit disappointed with the samples (I was missing one, and was hoping for things other than the Banana Boat sun block and the CetaphiL), I think it's a really great idea and a fun holiday gift.
